The course has a pre-requisite of Introduction to Sports Taping prior to registration.

The course is suited to Coaches, Athletes, Massage Therapists and Sports Trainers who require a higher level of education when it comes to taping an athlete for injury prevention and injury management.

The taping course not only identifies the different types of tapes and supplies that are required by a sports trainer but also helps the learner to identify the need for taping in relation to injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Learners will have the opportunity to advance their knowledge of anatomy and physiology whilst learning new skillsets in the process.

Hugh Burns has over 25 years of experience being a Level 2 Sports Trainer and has worked closely with Doctors and other Allied Health Professionals whilst working in Medical Teams at elite level with various sporting codes.

Learners will have the opportunity to learn how to effectively tape shoulders, knee, elbow, achilles tendon, plantar fascia of the foot and pinch taping techniques for the calf and hamstring.

P00034 - Advanced Sports Taping

Course Delivery

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

Course Durations

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 4 Hours

Learners must have completed the Introduction to Sports Taping course or have demonstrated competence as a Level 1 Sports Trainer.

Learners will have to provide evidence of the above before commencement of the training.

This certificate does not require renewal

Learners will need to demonstrate competence in the following:

Taping of the Shoulder 

Taping of the Knee for MCL, LCL, ACL and PCL injuries.

Taping to prevent Hyperextension of the Elbow.

Taping for Achilles Tendon injuries.

Taping for the Plantar Fascia of the Foot (Low Dye Taping)
